The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding production facilities overseas, and doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. The company considered North America as a growth market for Washlet's bidets and toilets, as opposed to its "base" markets of Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto was documenting Toto words to ensure that the next generation could comprehend them. Many words were substituted with foreign words. For instance dui, which was Bengali for verandah, was used.
Origins
The early history of Toto which began in 1917, mirrored Japan's economic expansion. In the first half of 1917, Toto produced products to meet the demands for modern, new urban housing. To achieve this, it employed the first tunnel kiln in the nation to make ceramics in continuous flow. It also pioneered the use of automation to control production, allowing for greater efficiency and consistency.
In the late 1980s, the company began to expand outwards to benefit from sales and new markets. It established the Cera Trading Company, importing and distributing other products from other manufacturers to complement its own line of sanitary earthenware and plumbing fittings. This strategy boosted sales and expanded the firm's market share.
In the 1990s, Toto had shifted its focus to research and development of water-related household appliances. It also improved its distribution system to better meet the needs of its customers and to increase profits. The company adopted a just-in-time method of managing supply chains, and it used the same approach in its sales strategy. This resulted in a higher level of customer satisfaction.
Toto continues to invent on the toilet technology. Its most recent toilet, for example, has a strong tornado flush that is more eco friendly than conventional toilets. The company makes use of recycled water for its manufacturing process and also has a green purchasing policy. In addition to toilets, Toto manufactures faucets and bathtubs, as well as hand dryers that are more efficient in terms of energy consumption than standard models.
The first Toto museum opened in the year 2015. It has exhibitions on Toto’s seminal products, their evolution, the group companies (all of which are made from ceramics) as well as the history of plumbing, and products such as bath units. In a separate gallery you can view Toto products that are sold across the world. The museum also includes a bathroom with a WASHLET toilet and other toilet-related innovations.
Before the formation of Toto members of the group did session work for various musicians. Boz Scaggs album Silk Degrees featured keyboardist David Paich as well as guitarists Mike Porcaro & Steve Lukather and drummer Jeff Porcaro & Steve Lukather. They also played on records by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
With a name like Asia you'd expect the group to be prog kings and queens however, it's actually a pretty straight forward rock band. The group began as a quartet, and they recorded two albums: 1979's self-titled debut and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. However, even though the group have a wide range of musical backgrounds their biggest breakthrough was in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a major blockbuster, but not without its share of issues. Record companies placed the band on the place with the directive "give us a hit record or we'll sack you" and the pressure was on to give it. Toto was able to achieve this with the help from the hit song "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery is a result of their previous experiences since the members had been session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and Seals and Crofts prior the group. Their sonic signature has since become the standard for '80s pop, influencing many modern artists.
The album opens with a strong and pounding sound with songs like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write great AOR songs that slowly work their hooks into you. The album also contains slow, jazzier tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. And the album ends with Great Expectations, a song that mixes folk with distortion AOR and should sound like a complete flop, but is incredibly effective.
After Toto IV the band's fortunes began to wane. David Hungate left the band to pursue a solo career and the band was dominated by drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the band following drug-related charges. The band remained with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.
Toto released Isolation despite the turbulence. It wasn't as well-liked as IV. The band managed to release an album that topped the charts, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. This album marked the conclusion of the original Toto lineup and was also the first to feature a new singer, Simon Phillips.

Line-up
Turn Back, the band's third studio album it was a return to a traditional sextet style and an even more consistent and powerful album with a sharper edge. The edgier sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the growth of the band. Bobby Kimball's growing virtuosity was reflected by the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard work was also more sophisticated, sharper and less akin to previous efforts.
After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live concert in Amsterdam which was released as a set of two CDs titled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. The group released a brand new studio album just a few months after, and went on a world tour promote the album. In this time, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes filled in for Paich, and bassist David Hungate left the group to spend more time with his family.
In 1998, Paich and Lukather started exploring old demo tapes and tapes to make a new record featuring songs that had never been recorded before. 토토사이트 순위 was completed in 2001 and released as a double album called Then and Now. It was the first album in the band's history that did not include a single song with the word "A" in its title. It also included one previously unreleased track, "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New was a commercial failure and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis, which affected his singing abilities. Additionally, Hungate returned to Nashville, while drummer Leland Sklar was replaced by Shem von Schroeck.
Downes and the other original members of Asia - Wetton, Palmer, and Howe--convened an event in England in early 2006 to discuss the possibility of formally reforming the group. The group, which was missing Howe who was busy with Yes at the time, was renamed Toto XIV. They toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also had a special guest appearance from singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
